are composed of mica nanoparticles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects. These unique pigments are designed to be premixed with a 100% solids, no VOC clear epoxy binder. When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates an eye catching dramatic color.
For the most vivid color and dynamic effects we recommend 4oz of pigment for every gallon of epoxy binder. For example, a 3 gallon epoxy kit would require a total of 12oz of metallic powder pigment. Mix powder with Colored Epoxies epoxy resin (A) first before adding Colored Epoxies epoxy hardener

This is a very easy system to install on a floor surface. The average DIY cost of a metallic floor is ONLY .50-.75 per sq ft to complete.
Always apply backdrop color first, using one of Colored Epoxies 12 colors before starting the metallic process. Coverage rate for primer and backdrop color is 275 sq ft per gallon. Coverage rate for metallic application over a cured backdrop is approximately 65-70 sq ft per gallon using a magic trowel. The goal is to show 12% of the backdrop estimated 65-70 sq ft per gallon. If more of the backdrop is exposed, the metallic coverage rate is higher.
For first-time installers, we recommend doing a test mock up on a pre-sanded piece of plywood prior to the actual application. Home depot sells pre-cut 24" x 24" boards for around .99 ea. You can purchase our epoxies in, as little as, 3 quart increments with any of your favorite pigment colors.

is dispersed into Colored Epoxies resins, it will create the illusion of natural formations, swirls, waves, and ripple effects. During the installation metallics will naturally flow through our resins creating their own unique artistic finish.
Always apply metallics with a magic trowel, over a solid backdrop color for best 3D color effect. Colored Epoxies offers 12 standard colors for backdrop colors. Always apply two applications. First application as the primer 2nd as the finished backdrop. No additional primer needed, use Colored Epoxies products as the primer and finish, colored or clear.
