Kyosho Pro-X Buggy Shock Absorber Kit 30333 Oil Dampers Ultima Optima Tamiya

For sale is a set of four brand new oil filled dampers for the Kyosho Pro X Sport Edition 2WD Buggy (1/10 scale).  The Pro X buggy came in two versions, the Team Edition and Sport Edition.  The Sport version used these Kelron based shocks while the Team one used aluminum bodied shocks.  Funny thing, I sort of recall that Kyosho didn't bother to change the box art for the Sport Edition and it still shows the higher end shocks even though they weren't included.
At first glance, these look a lot like ones which would come with the Kyosho Ultima II.  And indeed, they probably would fit, but they are different.  If you look closely at the Ultima shocks they came with ridges on the shock body to help position the shock collars.  No such thing exists on the Pro-X version; it just came with different size collars to help tune the suspension.  These will likely also fit the Pro XRT truck which came out around the same time.  These are from 1994.
The Pro X Buggy is exceedingly rare.  A lot of folks don't even know that this buggy existed.  It was a redesign of the Ultima to be more competitive.  The biggest claim-to-fame was the transmission, which was pretty complicated for its time.  Unfortunately, the buggy came out at the tail-end of interest in 2WD off-road.  Everyone was transitioning to 4WD and this buggy didn't sell well despite it's improvements.
If you are looking for the correct shocks to restore or repair your Pro X, these are for you. They are also suitable replacements for your Ultima or Optima as well.  Not a lot of hobby stores stocked parts for that buggy when new, or replacement parts can be hard to come by.
