At about 3 inches deep, these Deep Inserts have ample room for cuttings and seedlings. Engineered for hassle-free use and serrated between packs, de-nesting is simple and separation is easy. Built so water flow will disperse evenly among the cells and proper draining will occur through the drain holes in the bottom and sidewalls, these inserts are also compatible with most injection molded trays. Comes with 36 or 48 cells per insert.

How do I get the started plants out without hurting them?
A
The easiest way to get started plants out of the Deep Inserts would be to water the plants well the day before. The plants will come out easier when they are moist. Also, try pushing or squeezing near the bottom of the insert to loosen. Most plants are fairly resilient and can handle the strain.

The Deep Inserts are made of a slightly flimsy polystyrene plastic, however, our master gardener stated that with proper care and cleaning you could reuse the Inserts.

can grodan 1.5" x 1.5" cubes fit into each one of these smaller holes of 48 count?

The 1.5" x 1.5" Grodan Delta Mini Blocks should be able to fit inside of the #806 Deep Inserts, however, there will be gaps on the sides of the blocks when placed at the bottom of the insert and you may have difficulty removing the blocks for transplanting.
